Active railway corridor works for Sydney Metro City & Southwest

  • Construction of four 190m (4m wide, 2m high) base slabs and FRP backfill within an active railway corridor for Sydney Metro City & Southwest
  • Multi-staged construction to mitigate twice-daily tidal flooding: temporary dams built to redirect Cooks River tidal water before demolition and reconstruction of final two culverts
  • Extensive acid sulphate soil and onsite asbestos remediation to geotechnical and EPA requirements; innovative suspension of live 132 and 133kV cables during excavation
  • Temporary post-and-panel walls with 12m I-beam maintained a four-lane road within 500mm of excavation throughout —zero diversions required
  • Eight concurrent work crews managed within a severely constrained site; programme recovered through extended hours and in-house high-demand plant mobilisation
