Yanco Creek Modernisation Project – replacing seven creek crossings across a remote Murray-Darling corridor
- Construction of seven new bridge structures – six triple-span and one double-span – replacing existing creek crossings along the Bullatale Creek corridor between Tocumwal and Deniliquin, as part of the NSW Government’s SDLAM Yanco Creek Modernisation Project ($9.14M contract)
- Scope includes precast driven piles (10m–22m), abutments, headstocks and planks across seven dispersed sites, with precast components supplied by the client and transported by Brefni from the Deniliquin yard to each site
- Complex multi-site delivery in a remote, low-lying environment -temporary piling platforms with water flow pipe systems, integrated crane pads, and flood risk management for events up to once-in-20-year frequency
- Rigorous environmental management across an ecologically sensitive agricultural corridor -flora, fauna and fish passage protection, weed and seed protocols, livestock management, and construction water sourcing
- Strong Aboriginal engagement commitment -2.5% of contract value (~$125K) in First Nations participation, cultural heritage monitoring at two sites with identified Aboriginal heritage mounds, and engagement with Aboriginal Land Councils
