Brefni was engaged to deliver a streetscapes package in the North Sydney CBD, involving intricate and challenging working conditions with significant public interface. Early consultation with North Sydney Council and local restaurants/traders in Mount Street ensured the impact of construction activity was minimised for everyone.

The result is a modern new paved area and pedestrian accessway along Mount and Walker Streets and upgraded road facilities to Spring and Denison Streets.

Challenges faced by the project included;

• Working around a high volume of pedestrian traffic
• Maintaining access to shops and businesses
• Identifying, maintaining and relocating existing utilities
• Noise restrictions
• Accelerated program required to complete works to tight deadlines
• Offsite manufacturing precast components
• Dealing with potential archeological finds
• Dealing with stakeholder expectations
