The Department of Education deemed the existing Concrete Crib Retaining Wall at Austinmer Public School to be unsafe. Brefni were contracted to reconstruct the retaining wall and associated works. This occurred next to the Princes Highway and during school hours.
Brefni were engaged to carry out the following;
Removal of the existing crib wall & fence including bulk earth works
Removal of asbestos contaminated materials that were used in the construction of the original wall
Installation of piers & footings and 1000m3 of concrete
Erection of 150m Magnumstone Block Wall at 5m high
Installation of new 2.1-metre-high fence line & gate,
Reinstatement of school play area
